Medtech company CoMind said it has raised $102 million in its latest funding round. It's money that will go toward supporting regulatory approval of CoMind One, its non-invasive platform for brain monitoring.

The company said its platform is designed to make information about cerebral blood flow, cerebral autoregulation, and intracranial pressure easily and continually available at the bed-side for the first time. It's being positioned as a better alternative to more risky, invasive monitoring techniques that may require drilling into a patient's skull, and other less-invasive approaches that aren't as accurate.

The system includes an adhesive sensor that's placed on the patient’s forehead. The company said it will be designed to display signals on CoMind’s dedicated display or integrated into existing multi-parameter monitors, with the aim of supporting  integration into existing clinical workflows.

CoMind One is intended to support decision-making in cardiac and vascular surgery, intensive care, and traumatic brain injury management.

The funding will also help to support completion of additional clinical trials, team expansion, and manufacturing partnerships.
