DexCom said its Dexcom G7 15-Day Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System for people over the age of 18 with diabetes will launch in the United States on Dec. 1.
At initial launch, Dexcom G7 15 Day will be available for users who receive their Dexcom CGM through DME providers. G7 15 Day will also be covered for Medicare beneficiaries and has met the category requirements for therapeutic CGM systems set forth by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The G7 is one of the longest-lasting CGM systems with 15.5 days of wear and it's one of the only waterproof CGM available.
It allows users to connect to their sensor directly to their Apple Watch and provides automated activity logging, simplified meal logging, and new medication logging.
At launch, Dexcom G7 15 Day will connect with the iLet Bionic Pancreas and Omnipod 5. DexCom said it's working closely with Tandem on extending the launch to Tandem's customers shortly as it finalizes integration.
