Stryker said it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire ZuriMED, a privately held company and developer of the FiberLocker System, which provides a novel approach for rotator cuff augmentation with increased biomechanical strength to address a key clinical failure mode in rotator cuff repair.
Rotator cuff augmentation is a fast-growing area in sports medicine, and Stryker said this acquisition will enhance its ability to support shoulder specialists across both sports medicine and arthroplasty.
The patented FiberLock technology enables the formation of a interwoven network between the patch and tendon tissue. During implantation, the instrument’s reciprocating needle pushes implant fibers into the underlying soft tissue, securing the patch across the entire patch–tendon interface. This results in immediate mechanical augmentation.
The technology was cleared by the FDA in 2025.

This transaction is subject to customary closing conditions. Stryker and ZuriMED will continue to operate as separate entities and proceed with business as usual until the transaction closes.
