Boston Scientific (BSC) announced a collaboration with Epic, an electronic health record (EHR) software developer in the U.S., to integrate its cardiac diagnostic services into Aura, Epic’s specialty diagnostics suite. This should allow providers to order cardiac diagnostic tests and receive results directly in Epic.
  • Through Aura, health systems health systems have an option to integrate with Epic and access Boston Scientific cardiac diagnostic services, reducing the time and IT resources needed for development
  • Aura eliminates the need for manual order of tests and data entry, which enhances workflows for providers, enables more informed care decisions and supports quicker treatment decisions for patients
“Collaborating with Epic to license its Aura platform adds a quick, easy EMR integration option for providers that complements our tailored, direct integration offerings,” said Scott Olson, senior vice president and president, Cardiac Rhythm Management & Diagnostics at Boston Scientific, in a statement. “This additional integration option will allow providers to connect to our ambulatory cardiac monitoring and diagnostics services while reducing pressure on their IT resources, simplifying their workflows and delivering a better provider experience.”
